Productive techniques to design an origami

In this book, I will not explain in detail the theories of origami creation - there is already a lot of bibliographic material about the topic. Instead, I will rather tell you how I use the origami design techniques that have been most productive to me. I will assume that the reader is familiar with technical terms such as traditional bases, grafting, box pleating, stretching and so on.

Origami traditional bases (fish, water bomb, preliminary, bird, frog and windmill) must be well known by any folder. Although they have been widely used, they are easy to understand and a handy point to start a design. Moreover, they can be generalized, either in the ways explained in the previous chapter or by a blitz, which doubles the number of available flaps. You can also add other more "advanced" elements to the base, such as a graft.

In my designs I have used them many times: for instance, the Wild Boar starts with a fish base and the Scorpion with a frog base.
