Every year, the Lyon Origami Convention brings together enthusiasts from all walks of life to share, learn, teach, and fully experience their passion for folding.
For three days, origami becomes much more than a hobby: it is an immersion into a vibrant, creative, and international community, where we fold, exchange, progress, and meet one another.

What is an origami convention?
An origami convention is a gathering of folders of all levels who meet to share their passion in an atmosphere that is friendly, inspiring, and rewarding.
What happens during the convention?
The days are organized around workshops where a folder teaches a model to a small group. These sessions are led either by guest masters or by volunteer participants. Conferences, technical demonstrations, and free folding times complete the program.
Who organizes the Lyon convention?
The convention is organized every year by the OORAA association, made up of passionate volunteers. Registration fees are used solely to finance the guests and the logistical organization of the event.
Who can participate?
The convention is open to anyone who has mastered the basic folds of origami. More technical workshops are clearly marked. However, it is not ideal for a very first discovery of origami. Accompanied children are welcome, and companions benefit from free entry.
